I applied through an employee referral. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Niantic (Los Angeles, CA) in May 2021
Interview
Several rounds of interviews, each consisting of 2-3 1-on-1 meetings lasting between 30 and 60 minutes. Each of the ~8 people I met was friendly and fun to chat with. The discussions included the sharing of past technical struggles and resolving interpersonal conflicts. One particularly enjoyable chat featured a D&D-esque, hypothetical role-playing experience where I was presented with an amusing-but-relevant scenario to verbally explore.

Question 1
One question that stands out asked me to choose a fictitious character with whom I identify, and explain why I resonate with them. It's a great (and tough!) question, and having never considered it before, I had to scramble to find a reasonable fit.
I applied online. The process took 5 days. I interviewed at Niantic (Wilmington, DE)
Interview
Applied after seeing a posting on LinkedIn. I scheduled time with the recruiter and they went over my background and why I was interested. They then said they’d put my resume in front of the team and see if they were interested in moving forward. After a few days, I heard back that they were not interested in proceeding.
