I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Noom in Oct 2020
Interview
1. Fill out a standard job application
2. 20 Minutes to answer 6 questions in possible coaching scenarios. These range from a person struggling with the program and how you handle that to a person who quit for a few weeks and then comes back apologetic. Also a 1 minute video on what makes a good coach
3. Mock interview - Ok.... this can be a pain. You will be assigned “Sam” a 40 year old woman who wants to lose 50lbs in 3 months. She is ambivalent to making any changes in her life to lose weight. She will come off as resistant to changing her diet and will have an excuse for everything.
Ie. Drinking more water each day is overwhelming and eating pizza means she failed.
STUDY UP ON MOTIVATIONAL INTERVIEWING AND OARS! (open-questions, affirmation, reflection, summary).
This mock interview lasts 45 min-1 hour and is isn’t winnable. You just need to last the 45 minutes to show you can handle a difficult client.
Stick with MI and OARS tactics and you will be fine.
4. Zoom interview. Standard job interview type questions
Waiting to hear back
After submitting a self-recorded video introducing yourself, if accepted, you are invited to a video interview. The conversation explores your background, education and experience, as well as goals for your career. It was relaxed but professional.

Question 1
Why do you feel you'd be a good fit for this position?
A few rounds of interviews with leadership and then presented with a case study for a theoretical user of Noom of how to assist them through menu selection at a popular restaurant chain.
Interview process included a mock interview (digital) and a virtual 1:1 meeting with a Heath Coach. My 1:1 meeting ended up being a phone call rather than a virtual meeting.
