I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at Northwestern Mutual in Mar 2011
Interview
As I was interested in an internship I approached them at a career function and asked about their internship possibilities. They told me that they would call me at a later date to set up the interview. Their phone interview consisted of 'why are you interested' questions and the such. From there a 1 on 1 interview was scheduled which had easy questions such as 'tell me about yourself' and 'do you see a future for yourself in selling insurance'. Both interviewers were quite friendly and seemed like decent people.
Straightforward process, interviewed with them on campus. They provided the information I needed. I decided to not move ahead with the interview process as it did not align with my goals, but the interviewers were cordial and professional.
Felt like they were selling me something the whole time. Super easy to talk to, but something just felt off the whole time. Had multiple phases of them explaining why they're so perfect and great to work for (massive selection bias in some of their numbers)
