I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Northwestern Mutual (Los Angeles, CA) in Mar 2023
Interview
3 total interviews, only the 2nd one felt like a real interview. The others were more like conversations. After the 2nd interview you get a "market survey" assignment that has you reach out to people in your network and interview them about personal financial issues facing their industries and getting ideas for how to connect with professionals similar to them. Smooth process overall and no complaints, although the biggest falloff is from interview 2 to 3 (when the surveys are assigned); if it bothers you too much to interview people about this then the job might not be for you, and that's kind of the reason they assign these.
I interviewed at Northwestern Mutual (Hartford, CT)
Interview
Was told about the program and how I would need to get certified to sell life insurance in order to participate in the program. The interviewer was laid back and relaxed. It was a group interview.
I interviewed at Northwestern Mutual (San Jose, CA)
Interview
Three rounds with calls with the head of hiring and with the head of the department, all behavioral questions were asked at each round to get to know you and your network
I interviewed at Northwestern Mutual (Washington, DC)
Interview
Very basic and straightforward behavioral questions, nothing technical. Have a good idea of what you would be doing and why you want to work there so that you can speak to your skillset and how it aligns with the job description.
