The interview was 8x competency-based questions in front of two managers, followed by roleplay email and roleplay phone call on the contact centre floor, surrounded by the other employees to get a feel for the environment.

Interview
The application and interview process for this was fine, nothing out of the ordinary and distinctly average.
In preparation for the interview I was asked to produce an action plan. With hindsight I am not clear what this was for as the panel stated in the interview that it wouldn't be subject to discussion or referred to.
Following the interview I was unsuccessful. This is the first time in my career that I've ever attended an interview for a management/senior level job where the hiring manager or recruitment team have not called personally to advise that I have not been successful and provide a basic level of feedback. Instead I received a fairly abrupt and generic email stating that I had not been successful . No offer of feedback. In my view if you are taking the time to attend an interview it is courteous for employers to at least call you in person to let you know how you have done.
This impersonal/automated approach to the recruitment does not reflect well on the organisation as a whole.
