      Security Engineer Interview

      13 June 2019
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Luxembourg
      Declined offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied in-person. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Numbrs (Luxembourg) in June 2019

      Interview

The Job I applied to was entitled "Information Security Officer", yet redirected to a "Security Engineer" Position. First Red Flag. I then informed the contact at HR that I applied for an other position that they have confirmed. HR replied that they are looking for the Information Security Officer, and would explain later. During the interview we discussed that the Job Title and Description is not ideal and confusing. We agreed it will be redone, I proposed to collaborate on it. Shortly after I was made an offer for "Information Security officer" with a rewritten JD that was still miles away from the role of "Information Security Officer". The offer also was not competitive at all. No Benefits included, no Pension Plan, No Vouchers, No car, no Bonus. I was also explained "We don't pay overtime". They did not share the wokring contract, but instead send a Job Offer that they requested I signed. Another Red Flag, there is no legal basis to sign a Job Offer as the employee doesn't even see the terms of the agreement. Never had that happen in my entire career. I replied back that the JD is not suitable for such a position and that the offer is in no way meeting the market offerings. I was told to make changes to the JD. HR proceeded to send me the JD on Wednesday, and the day after informed me that they want to retract the offer. I never got to see the contract. Summary: Red Flags all over the place - announcing Job Titles to attract talent, then to showhorn them into another one and not offering compensation that meets the responsability of the position but still boast about their wealthy investors on the phone. Too many Red Flags.
