I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Nuro (Santa Clara, CA) in Apr 2022
Interview
I was contacted by a recruiter via LinkedIn.
First round was an online coding exercise, which was reviewed later by their engineering team. Next would have been onsite for multiple technical rounds.

I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Nuro (San Francisco, CA) in July 2021
Interview
To be honest I was a bit bummed out by the interview process here.
Started with applying online and a recruiter reached out. She was very friendly, asked me a bit about my background, and proceeded to start scheduling the 45 min technical interview.
The technical interview was frustrating because we jumped immediately into the technical coding question without any introductions or anything. They didn't ask me about my background or anything like that, like okay why would my embedded systems background be important for an embedded systems role, just solve the coding problem.
The interviewer was friendly and gave me hints, but this seemed like a problem that you either know or don't. I probably need to spend more time on leetcode but not all embedded interviews require these kinds of questions.

Question 1
"Medium" Difficulty LeetCode: Generalized Abbreviation problem
The whole process took 4 weeks. The recruiter contacted me two days after I applied. The entire process was 6 Rounds.
1. General OA
2. Phone Screen based on domain knowledge
3. 4 back to back rounds with breaks
After the initial 2 interviews, the recruiter gives you feedback on how you've been doing so far so as to help you prepare for the next rounds. The interviewers are on-time and professional, they do look at the length and breadth of the interviewee's knowledge. The recruiters are very supportive and responsive to queries and everyone has been prompt in their responses. This has been one of the best and most inquisitive interview processes I have been through.
