I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at OMP (Berlin)
Interview
I passed the first screening, but for the second one, which was the technical interview; I asked the recruiter what it would be about, and she told me it would focus on the business and the company. So I didn’t study coding.
The test ended up being a live coding exercise, and honestly, it really bothered me because I spent a full week studying their business model, and none of that came up. It was all coding. The interviewer didn’t react at all when I mentioned this on camera.
The task itself wasn’t very complex, but it leaned more toward CSS, and I didn’t know how to answer about half of it.
I had one interview with HR, they told me that they would send a 1 hour ReactJS task in HackerRank and instead I got a 45min NodeJS challenge. Obviously I didn't perform as expected as it was a backend challenge. I sent an email asking if this was the correct exercise, and never got an explanation. Not sure if this person has no clue about the recruitment process/technical task, or if she simply doesn't care about the applicants. I've heard good stuff about the company, but this was a very disappointing experience.
