I attended a job day. In the first round I was interviewed by four people, one of them was the CEO. Though I did not have a supply chain background, I was interested in the analytics department, for a data scientist position or the technical consultant. It was evident from my CV and the interviewers also asked me several times if I have the supply chain background and I said no. Anyway I was chosen for a second round. In the second round we had to solve a business case in groups. I was put in a group with people with years of experience in supply chain. This surprised me alot because I expected a more fair procedure for selection. anyway after the second round they didn't make an offer with the feedback being: You do not have the sufficient background for consulting and the position that fits you is filled (they posted the data scientist position one day before my first interview). the fact that I do not have background in supply chain management was totally evident from the first time on my CV. Why I got invited a second time, and even a first time I have no idea. This kind of careless process only wastes the time and money of the applicant. Overall, the business case was a nice experience though.
