Receiving any kind of follow-up/what to expect/next steps during this interview process was honestly like pulling teeth. The interviews themselves (when actually scheduled successfully) were pleasant enough - they were casual conversations with senior leadership. However, the positives end there. For my first interview, the interviewer didn't even show up (and there was never even an apology in the reschedule). The second interviewer mentioned she had no idea where we were in the process and that she hadn't connected with anyone about my previous interview. Not a single interview was scheduled without me emailing the recruiter at least 2-3 times in the interim to follow up. An entire MONTH (4 WEEKS!) went by after my final interview where I didn't hear anything, and after 2 follow-up emails, I was finally told that they'd filled the position. I'm not sure if this reflects on their recruiters or the company itself, but the entire interview process was disorganized, chaotic, tepid, and seemingly just for optics.

I was able to meet with HR, medical directors, and more senior medical writers, which was really helpful to get a full picture of what was expected. Everyone was friendly and relaxed, which relaxed me. I had plenty of opportunities to find out what the job entailed, what a typical day/week would look like, and what was expected.

An initial screening via phone with a recruiter, followed by a writing test done at home. Once reviewed, a 1 hr conversational style meeting with a senior Mgr was scheduled, then several 45 min meetings with department managers.
