I applied through other source. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at OZY in July 2021
Interview
The interview process was unprofessional. On multiple occasions, the meeting was cancelled on me as I waited on the Zoom link at the time of our scheduled call. Several times they tried to schedule our meeting for a weekend which was a sign of what to expect if I worked there. I finally had interviews with two of the leaders, but each was after multiple last minute cancellations and reschedulings.
The process took 1+ week. I interviewed at OZY (Los Angeles, CA) in July 2020
Interview
First had an interview scheduled with Carlos Watson, CEO. He was nearly an hour late to our scheduled zoom. Not very professional and not a great first impression. He told a compelling story about Ozy.
Then got set up to interview with Samir Rao. His admin requested an interview over the weekend, which is never a good sign when trying to recruit someone. I declined and we got it set for a weekday. Samir was also late to our interview (seems like a pattern of not valuing other people’s time by Ozy leadership). Again told a good story and we discuss challenges in relation to my experience facing similar ones.
The interview seemed to go well and I was told they would follow up for next steps.
I never heard from anyone at Ozy ever again. They totally ghosted. They never responded to any follow up I sent.
Looks like I dodged a bullet. These fraudsters probably figure out that someone from the outside who came in would discover their lies from the inside.
Totally unprofessional behavior by Carlos and Samir in every way. Not surprised they ran the company into the ground spectacularly.
I applied through an employee referral. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at OZY (Mountain View, CA) in Jan 2015
Interview
Very in-depth and discussions with multiple departments about cultural fit. From editorial, technology, business development, and the founders, everyone had input. Definitely one of the more thorough interviews but appreciated the opportunity to provide insight and good ideas
