      Technical Field Service Engineer Interview

      6 Jan 2020
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Pittsburgh, PA
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Omnicell (Pittsburgh, PA) in Dec 2019

      Interview

The process was fairly quick in the beginning however on the last phone interview I had he said someone from another location was relocating to Charlotte NC. He told me to reach back out to him at the beginning of 2020 to see if there has been any changes. The role popped up again riggt before the new year so I called him and he had another manager interview me over the phone a few days later. After that interview I received an invitation to come to Pittsburgh PA for a last and final interview. Omnicell flew me out on December 18th 2019. The interview went well despite some of the interview questions that felt were elementary how these could be answered differently depending on the person such as myself. After the interview I was told to call this manager back he did not give a date or time so figured I should just call back after the holidays so I did but before I could do so I received an email saying this job has been canceled which was a big let down. I tried to still call the manager but he didn't pick up. In my opinion it would be nice for them to at least address this situation and let someone know if the job will pop back up and I can apply again or budget issues or they just didn't want to hire me and wanted to use someone from within which is fine. Overall I'm disappointed with the way this process was handled I thought it went well till this point. Communication is key.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

The interview questions were fairly easy however they focused on Servos and how do they work. And he also want me see if a 120V cord was shorted or at least simulate how I do it with a multimeter so I did the way I normally check, which check for continuity to find the break in the wire. The manager may not of liked the way I did it so he showed me his way which was check with the leads on just one side of the 3 prong plug checking between the three.
