      Interview

      I interviewed for a Sr. Director of Sales Enablement role at Omnicell. The role was appealing to me given it's scope, strategic focus and opportunity to make an impact. Because of this, I committed several days to research and prepare for my interviews with the hiring manager and subsequent 1-1 interviews with a member of the Organizational Development team, HR, and Clinical Consulting group. At the beginning of the interview process, it was immediately clear to me Omnicell's Talent Acquisition team was operating at a much higher level than the majority of tech companies today. Honestly, it was like night and day. Here are some things Omnicell's Talent Acquisition team excelled at: 1) Picking up the phone and communicating directly instead of relying on email. It's very common for recruiters to default to email these days. Instead, my recruiter called me directly to communicate 1-1. This only increased my enthusiasm and commitment to prepare! 2) Clear communication in the calendar invite. Within each meeting invite, the Talent Aquisition team provided "What We're Looking For" criteria to help me prepare for each respective interview. Instead of going in blind, I had some sense of what each interviewer would cover during our time together. How refreshing! 3) A realistic and strategic job description. This was one of simply one of the best job descriptions I've ever seen for an enablement role. In particular, priorization and a timeline for planning and execution were included. Amazing! Unfortunately, I ended up not getting a job offer, which was disappointing. However, instead of receiving a generic email, I received a phone call to share the news. Candidly, this isn't an easy thing to do for a Talent Acquisition professional. It takes a certain amount of courage, empathy and humanity. But it absolutely makes an enormous difference to the interviewee. In summary, my interview experience set the bar of excellence in my mind. I came away with an enormous sense of gratitude, appreciation and respect for Omnicell. Kudos to the Talent Acquisition team and leadership for your strategic thinking, humanity and empathy. You are blazing a path of excellence.
