      General Manager Interview

      13 June 2025
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Lexington-Fayette, KY
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied through other source. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at One Holland (Lexington-Fayette, KY) in May 2025

      Interview

The absolute most unprofessional interview process and executive leadership I’ve ever seen in 30 years of high-end management!!! The first interview went fine, no hiccups. I was told on the area Director that I would be contacted by the regional Director of operations ASAP. After four days, I reached out to the RM To follow up. As your response, The regional director of operations should have already reached out to you to schedule an interview, when I explained that he did not I’m presuming that they communicated and I finally received a text message, not a phone call within 24 hours… This is where it gets really UNPROFESSIONAL!!! I go to meet the original Director of operations as Scheduled, to find out he was not there for the interview but instead they had me do an impromptu interview with an assistant manager… I was a little taken aback needless to say, but I still interviewed professionally and the interview also seems to go extremely well! So well in fact, that the assistant manager left the table and communicated with the director that I should have been interviewing with and said that he needed to find a way to reschedule the interview ASAP… Fast-forward to a week later I finally now I’m doing a third interview with the regional director of operations…. Another very successful interview I felt! Let me also insert that my résumé is pretty stellar as well… May share at the end of the interview That I would be contacted within 48 hours one way or another whether they were proceeding forward with a final interview from the COO of the franchise! Needless to say, I was excited and was simply counting down the hours until the phone call, email etc…. Well, 48 hours turned into 72 and so forth and so on and come day for with no response, I reached out again with no response yet again!!! Out of courtesy, I texted twice because that seemed to be their venue of communication. After no response, I placed a phone call to the regional vice president of operations with no answer and only a voicemail. I let an additional two days go by to express patience and of course understand that things sometimes do happen…. Finally, I received a text message, not a phone call with a very belligerent dismissive response that said and I’m quoting, “ Though we appreciate your enthusiasm, we never did say that we would follow up if we decided to go a different direction!?!!” Imagine my shock and utter disappointment and yes agitation with such an unprofessional group of high-up leadership!!! I am thankful In retrospect that The interview process did not go forward. I cannot imagine working for a group of individuals that traits their leadership or employees of any level with such dismissiveness and disrespect!!! Shame on this company!!!!

I was told from the RM that I would be contacted by the regional Director of operations ASAP. After four days, I reached out to the RM To follow up. His response was, “the RVP should have already reached out to you to schedule an interview,” When I explained that he did not, I’m presuming that they communicated and I finally received a text message, not a phone call within 24 hours… This is where it gets really UNPROFESSIONAL!!! So well in fact, that the assistant manager left the table and communicated with the director that I should have been interviewing with and said that he needed to find a way to reschedule the interview ASAP… Btw, never did I receive an apology or any sort of explanation via the RVP in anyway, form of fashion. Fast-forward to a week later I finally now I’m doing a third interview with the RVP of operations…. Another very successful interview I felt! Let me also insert that my résumé is pretty stellar as well… He shared at the end of the interview, that I would be contacted within 48 hours one way or another whether they were proceeding forward with a final interview from the COO of the franchise! His response, and I quote, “ that’s out of my hands! Once I send them up, I have nothing else to do with it!” WOW!!! Out of courtesy, I texted the RVPtwice; because that seemed to be their venue of communication. After no response, I placed a phone call to the regional vice president of operations with no answer and only a voicemail.
