Interview
The process outline is pretty clear and transparently communicated to you. Take home assignment is not difficult either. However my experience was pretty negative and after reading some of the reviews here, I see I’m not alone feeling this way. The first peer interview was very pleasant and I was very psyched and excited to join. However, when it came to the round presenting the assignment, it became clear from their line of questioning that they aren’t open minded to understand others’ thoughts or what’s SaaS industry best practice and are looking for someone to drink the kool aid or already fit the mould. Even though they said “no right/wrong answers we just want to know your thought process”, the way they kept asking “so you will do xx? You will really do Yy?” “Do you think we need to do this really?” questions indicate the culture where they are also constantly being grilled the same way by their stakeholders and therefore in survival mode themselves. ie, even if your rationale makes sense, it probably won’t get accepted (very gov way of working as expected). And that though they have lots of autonomy they do not receive sufficient support from their own leaders to follow through and constantly operate in lots of ambiguity. Even if they claim they do not micromanage people, the impression I got is you will need to justify every little nugget of info you put in your docs, never mind the agile and iterative nature of the work being done. My thoughts after: if you are more interested in churning out “better-than-whatever-agencies-were-using” products for good looking metrics, than getting to know your potential and existing users of your products as a collaborative partner, expect them to always think of you as just a vendor and face resistance in adoption then. I have yet to hear back since it’s only a couple of days after the session, but will most likely not move forward after processing the session in my head.

Question 1
Why do you want to join OGP? If you can choose to work on a project, what would you want to build and why? How do you handle stakeholders who are resistant to adopt the product you are training them to use? What’s the most difficult situation you have had to handle?

Interview
Hiring process was fast. First interview was more of a get-to-know-you and your past experience. Then complete take-home assignment and present it in 2nd round interview. Unfortunately did not get into 3rd round.

Question 1
What's a problem you faced. How do you handle workplace issues.
