      Application

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Opendoor (Dallas, TX) in Feb 2018

      Interview

Received an email from recruiter a few days after applying through their website. I was referred by a current employee. The email asked me for times that it would be convenient for me to do a 20-30 minute phone interview. The recruiter was very accommodating. The phone interview was scheduled for later that week. The interview went well and seemed like a great fit for them and me. Then we discussed salary. The position offered level 1 pay, which seemed fair for the job, however, it was too significant of a pay decrease for me to be able to accept it, so we ended the interview process for that position with that call. The recruiter was aware that I applied for another position in HR and assured me she would recommend me to the recruiter handling the hiring for that position. A few days later, the initial recruiter emailed me back to let me know she spoke to the other recruiter for the HR position and found out they were looking for someone with a Master's degree to fill that one. The recruiter was friendly, thorough, professional and kept her word with what she said she would do. I appreciated learning more about the company and the position and speaking with someone who showed genuine interest in her job.

      Question 1

How did you handle a difficult situation you've been in at work?
      Answer question
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Opendoor (Dallas, TX)

      Interview

Two mock phone interviews, and then 5 face to face at corp. 3 of the 5 interviewers showed up late for our 1 on 1. stating "I am very busy" All three were "Very Busy"? Not sure why they did not reschedule then. One interviewer did not even sit in a chair. This interviewer climbed up on a desk to interview me. I was shocked! The 5th interview I had, was 20 minutes late for my 1 on 1. I was placed in a small conference room and told they would be along soon. I ended up having to ask a random employee for help. This employee was nice enough to track the interviewer down. Once the interview started, the interviewer kept looking at the clock. This company was NOT prepared for this. This is NOT an equal employment opportunity company! Unless everyone was given the same treatment and interviewers showing up late.

      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Opendoor in May 2018

      Interview

A recruiter reached out to me from a career website. Set up time 30 minutes for a brief interview. Next process is 1 hour phone "role play" 2 different people. Very difficult because they ask you specific questions like a customer would ask. They tell you to look over the website and most questions are not on there. Next step you have a 2 hour on-site interview and meet with different people. Interview seemed pretty seamless. The people who interviewed me had no clue about mortgages, but that is a little different from this role. And before the interview you have a home assignment. It requires quite a bit of your time with the whole interview process.
