      Accepted offer
      Positive experience

I applied through other source. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Opex Analytics (Chicago, IL) in Oct 2015

      Interview

The interview process consisted of a couple things: there was a case study (you had about a week to work on it), a technical interview, a behavioral interview, and meet the team/lunch time.

      Data Scientist Interview

      20 Feb 2019
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Chicago, IL
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Opex Analytics (Chicago, IL) in Dec 2018

      Interview

Unethical, long interview process. They waste the candidates time and give 20-30 hour data science end to end projects to all their applicants so they can steal their code.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

3 rounds of interviews. One behavior phone screen, one technical phone screen, one 8hr programming test that actually can take 30 hours if you do a good job.

      Data Scientist Interview

      20 Nov 2018
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Evanston, IL
      Declined offer
      Positive experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied through university. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Opex Analytics (Evanston, IL) in Oct 2018

      Interview

The interview process involved a take-home case study and final round on-site interview. The case study is challenging, but it's an interesting problem and it requires you to think creatively about feature engineering. On-site interview involved: a presentation of my case study, a technical interview, a 1-on-1 with a senior data scientist (behavioral interview and culture fit) and a conversation with two partners. The presentation of the case study was really enjoyable, there were a lot of questions from the audience and I could explain my thought process in detail and describe how I decided to tackle the problem. Expect them to evaluate not only your technical skills but also your soft and presentation skills! The overall experience was great. I was also invited for dinner with 3 team members and it was a very informal and non-evaluative evening to better understand the types of problems they work on and get a sense of the corporate culture -which is great! They also hosted an info session in their offices, during which they showed us some of the projects they worked on and I had the chance to talk to the data scientists who work there and get answers to all my questions about the company.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

As you would expect for a data scientist position, they ask a series of technical questions on predictive analytics and SQL.
