I applied through university. I interviewed at Optimal Satcom (Blacksburg, VA) in Mar 2016
Interview
The interview took place at my school, Virginia Tech. I was in a room with three interviewers, one would be my future manager, one was a developer from the Blacksburg office, and one was the founder and CEO of the company. The interview lasted about 45 minutes and they asked me about things on my resume and what I had been learning in classes. There were no explicit technical problems or whiteboard situations, but they asked about an app I had created and how I implemented it, and then asked if the data structure was infinitely long how I would best search through it and process it, and if I would change my methods at all.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
If you had a billion by billion minesweeper matrix, how would you best determine where to search for and place mines?
The interview process was unconventional and they only asked questions from my resume. No personal questions were asked so I feel like they didn't get to know my as a person and as an engineer.
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Optimal Satcom (Blacksburg, VA) in Sept 2013
Interview
The entire interview was relatively easy. They asked a lot of behavioral questions. Nothing technical or hard. However, this was a while ago so they may have started to ask technical questions, since they are growing.
