I applied online. The process took 6 weeks. I interviewed at Ori in June 2020
Interview
This was by far the worst experience I've had with any company. I still cannot believe how Ori treated me.
I applied for the job on AngelList. A few days passed, enough for me to consider that my application had been rejected.
I then received an email from AngelList saying that Ori and I "matched". Not a single message from Ori at that point.
I wrote another message, indicating my availability.
More time passed, enough for the couple of times I suggested to be in the past.
Ori then sent me a one-line message -the very first one from them- asking for my email address. I quickly replied with my email.
Ori then sends me a calendar invite, that contains nothing but a zoom link. I did not know what the call was about, and I did not get a say on the date and time of the meeting.
As soon as the call started, I was asked to present myself and to answer various questions. About 20 minutes into the 30-minute call and I still had not gotten a presentation of the company. Given the chance to ask questions, I asked for a presentation. The reply was: "What do you think we do?", and I essentially had to answer the question myself.
Stupidly, I agreed to take it to the next step, which is a "fun" technical challenge, taking "only" 6 to 8 hours.
During that last call, I pointed out that time was short as I was reaching the end of recruitment processes with other companies. I was assured that it was not a problem, and that once the task was finished it would only take a couple of days to finish Ori's process.
The call was on a Friday evening at 6:30pm (so much for work/life balance), I decided to tackle the task that week-end, to make things as quick as possible.
The task took all of my Sunday afternoon (around 8 hours). I submitted my work on the Monday, got a confirmation that the same day ("we'll review and revert back"), and then I waited. That was 25 days ago.
I still haven't heard back from Ori. No feedback after the task, no rejection of my application, nothing.
I think this is very unprofessional behavior, and a total lack of respect. I'm glad I'm not working for them.
Stay. Away.
