      Principal Scientist Interview

      2 Mar 2022
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Cambridge, MA
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Orna Therapeutics (Cambridge, MA) in Oct 2021

      Interview

Interviews proceeded for approximately 2 months. I had multiple conversations with leadership about the nature of the work and it seemed they were changing the job description during the interview process. This should have been a red flag, but I proceeded anyway. I participated in the full, second-round interview with presentation and felt it went well. HR requested contact info for my references and proceeded to reach out to them. A few days later, I found out through one of my references that orna had canceled their screening interview... When inquired about this with the recruitment organization mediating the interview process, I was told that orna had offered a different candidate. Really really shady practice to request references from someone and then back out. Even more distasteful to not follow up with me after the time and effort spent during the interview process. Avoid this place - it's an unfortunate example of how the company thinks it can treat people.
