I received a call from the recruiter who told me that the CHRO liked my profile and it'd be great if I can come down for a face-to-face interview. On reaching their Andheri office, I was made to wait for an hour after which another recruiter conducted a basic screening who seemed to be completely unaware of the various HR Tech platforms I've worked on and the PMS best practices. I had to spell out everything for her to ensure she writes it correctly in the evaluation form. I was also asked about my experience in the retail industry and if I've had any payroll experience and after another half an hour, I was told that they have received a lot of applications and hence, the CHRO has decided to conduct Zoom interviews and I can leave for the day. Neither an industry preference nor a necessary payroll experience was mentioned in the job description. Moreover, my previous organisations as well as my areas of expertise were clearly mentioned in my resume. It was very unprofessional to schedule a face-to-face interview without going through my resume. I had to avail half day leave for this and it was a wastage of my time.
