I applied through a recruiter. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Osler, Hoskin & Harcourt LLP (Toronto, ON) in May 2025
Interview
Extremely rigorous interview process, They make you an offer, so you sign back and think you got the job, but then they do a background check, and if there is something that is unsatisfactory to them, they will rescind the offer. Felt like the entire process was jumping through hoops.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Familiarity with working in a large scale firm; how you would manage your lawyers practice, how you would organize your day, etc.
The interview process was long and extensive. It included verifying with all previous employers and conducting background checks (if you lived in other countries, they also do a security check there)
I applied online. The process took 5 days. I interviewed at Osler, Hoskin & Harcourt LLP in Dec 2023
Interview
It was a two-part interview process. The first interview was a phone interview. The second interview was an in person interview with the hiring manager and a lawyer from the department I was applying for. Both interviews asked general questions such as what are your strengths and weaknesses, and where do you see yourself in five years. They also break down what the position entails and what would be needed of you as an employee . Both processes were pleasant and they made you feel comfortable.
