I applied through other source. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Our World in Data
Interview
I conducted a test that involved the estimation of an econometric model to related economic growth to poverty rates. The test also required to present the results using appropriate plots. I submitted the test and my application was rejected. I received detailed feedback on what they did not like about my exercise.

Question 1
I was not invited to the interview, since I did not pass the initial test. I was compensated for the time spent on the application.
On top of the typical CV and cover letter you have to complete two written assignments and nine multiple choice questions with data manipulation required. This is all to before being put on any shortlist and far from being intereviewed (an additional exercise is required before then). Require a lot from you before ever giving you the time of the day.
Our World in Data will send you a multi-hour coding exercise based on their open source codebase if your application is chosen.
The next interview would be an 1.5 hour panel of a few engineers and hiring team. Most of the interview consists of technical and behavioral questions. The team doesn't allocate more than 5 or 10 minutes for candidate questions, which is weird given this is the first face to face interview.
The process overall comes across pretty cold and academic. It was slow and delayed in parts and they didn't seem particularly curious or friendly.
Their team doesn't write tests for their codebase that's why they are constantly fixing issues.
