I applied in-person. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Oxfam (Derby, England) in Jan 2022
Interview
It was a very informal short conversation. We stood in the store room while there were other workers around gathering materials they needed. The woman was lovely and the interview lasted a total of around 5 minutes.
One in-person interview at the shop. They asked about why I wanted the role and about my availability. They gave a tour of the shop. I met some of the other volunteers working there.
I applied online. I interviewed at Oxfam (London, England) in July 2024
Interview
I got an email inviting me for a short phone interview. The call was pretty straightforward and lasted about 10-15 minutes. The store manager asked me why I wanted to work for a charity and whether I was familiar with their mission. I told them about my previous customer service experience and why I thought working in a charity store would be meaningful. They also asked about my availability and if I was comfortable working weekends or evenings.
