My first contact was not with HR, but with a Professor/ member of the hiring committee, which I liked. That part was the best part of the hiring process.
I came from out of town for the interview and wished I would have known how depressed the area and the college were before wasting my time. All but one building were run down and a good portion of the buildings were trailers. I've been on a lot of CC campuses, and this was by far one of the most depressing.
The interview process was extremely methodical. They set a timer for my teaching demo and even gave me the questions they were going to ask in advance, exactly 20 minutes to the second before the interview started. It felt so fake and meticulous that I just couldn't imagine myself working there.
I was told I would receive a call by 4:00pm to let me know if I had made it to the next round. When the call came, I didn't even answer. I can't imagine coming to work at this place every day.
