I applied through university. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Paintzen (New York, NY) in Feb 2018
Interview
Interviewed with HR at a hiring event at school. Followed up with an email and received a Hackerrank coding challenge. I didn't pass all the specs, but was close, and was invited to the onsite. The onsite was 4 rounds of interviews: (1) behavioral with non-tech manager level, (2) and (3) were both junior engineers with 6 months - 1 year experience, and (4) was with CTO. Received rejection letter about a week after onsite. I replied with a request for feedback, and didn't get an answer.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Hackerrank Questions: (1) Balanced Brackets, (2) Convert strings, (3) Find a sum in an array
Not amazing. Went in for an on site, was told that two of the four people I was supposed to meet weren't there--one was sick, but one was on vacation. Ended up scheduling another on site...two weeks after the first one. Ok. I was left to chill in the waiting room on the second onsite for about 30 minutes before talking to the two people I missed. One guy was very nice; one was barely paying attention and seemingly purposefully unpleasant? Maybe this was a bad cop type of thing. Who knows.
