I applied online. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at Palm Beach Tan (Lakewood, OH) in June 2016
Interview
I applied online, and was sent a personality assesment to take. I was called for an interview the following morning. The interview was informal and the women were wearing yoga booty shorts with sneakers and a company t-shirt. They were very young. My first impression was thinking that I am pretty sure I have been in sales longer than the manager has been alive. The manager proceeded to try to talk me out of being interested in the job, first she assumed that I had no sales experience mentioning that sales is hard and not for everyone, then mentioned that scheduling may conflict with my college courses (I am a nontraditional student finishing my BA after 20 years). The interview ended with her telling me the DM would contact me and an hour later I got a rejection email. I clearly did not fit the company look or culture as an older lady, but I hope to remind the management that the city this particular location is in, is full of soccer moms who may be more comfortable with someone that can relate to them. Overall, it wasnt a terrible interview but from a sales perspective it was not the kind of place I would want to work because the manager could not really tell me much about the actual position or pay or schedule, from a soccer mom perspective it is not the type of place I would patronize as the few minutes I spent in the place I had self esteem issues about my not so perfect body.
Simple. Basic questions. I met with the manager of the location - we discussed why I left my other job and why I wanted to work there: my school schedule, etc

Question 1
Describe a difficult client and how you overcame the situation
Asked me to sell a pen to her while in her office that is smaller than a dressing room. Also applied to a different location but had to interview at this one even and said I would have to work at this one only.
