The website says, "The process to join is easy! ... complete our Independent Contractor Agreement (ICA) and we’ll have the GREC reassign you to PalmerHouse. We can do this on-line and within minutes...To receive a copy of our independent contractor agreement (ICA), please contact: Kevin L. Palmer, CEO & Founder." I followed those instructions. But before responding to my email, the broker/owner, Kevin Palmer apparently researched and SCRUTINIZED my background. He responded by questioning the number of brokers where I had placed my license over the past several years, and also questioned my sales volume over the past year. I get it, you absolutely have the right to have a certain type of agent join your brokerage. But if you intend to scrutinize the agent's background, don't say the process is as simple as requesting the ICA. It would have saved a lot of time on both sides, and it would simply be a more transparent way of operating. If you only want top producers who have been with one or two brokers, just say so. I felt judged, and did not expect that response, based on the simple joining instructions posted on the website. If the sign-up process is less than transparent, what else is?
