I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Pandora (Oakland, CA) in June 2011
Interview
I was contacted by a recruiter and had one phone conversation before I was invited for an in-office interview. My in-office interview lasted for about 2 hours and then I was contacted with an offer.
The series of in-persons I had were quite unremarkable -- not bad -- but I left feeling pretty indifferent about the position. I also felt that the lack of challenging, thoughtful, and creative questions, and not having any additional follow-up in-person meetings was a sign that Pandora is not nearly as selective as they should be (in terms of cultural fit, skills, ability to really make an impact) and screening for quality (at least in adops) is not the highest priority.
I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Pandora in Jan 2014
Interview
Had a phone interview that lasted about an hour. Pretty straightforward, focused on questions about past experiences. Had to relate past experiences to qualifications in the job. Also asked about why I wanted to work at Pandora, and marketing in general.
If I had researched Pandora a little more before the interview I would have been better prepared with my answers. I also was not prepared to answer in depth questions on some skills I had listed, so make sure you are ready for resume specific questions.
