I applied in-person. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Panera Bread (Tuscaloosa, AL) in July 2013
Interview
very friendly and informal. We met in the local Panera cafe and simply discussed what the job would entail and how i might fit into the baking mold. I also met the man who would be training me and he discussed the details of my training with me and asked a few stress tester questions to see if he thought i would be able to handle the bake.

Question 1
what kind of experience do you have that could help cope with the multitasking environment you will experience working as a baker?
It was fairly easy. Some behavior questions and questions about hobbies. They also asked me if I had any food service experience. Overall, it wasn't a bad gig between jobs.
Applied online, got a phone call to meet at a cafe, interviewed, got an offer, and accepted the job offer. Then scheduled training and orientation. Pretty easy process, except it is 3rd shift.
Very easy. My previous manager became the bakery manager so they already knew me. I contacted her and we arranged a phone call so we could talk about the position and see if it was a good match. It worked out really well for me then I was able to start soon after.
