      Product Manager Interview

      1 July 2025
      Anonymous employee
      Singapore
      Accepted offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Parcel Perform (Singapore) in May 2025

      Interview

I will NOT recommend this company to anyone. I went through a multi round interview process with Parcel Perform for a Product Manager role, which included multiple technical and leadership rounds, culminating in a final interview with the CEO. After successfully completing all stages, I was offered the role, signed the contract, and resigned from my previous position based on that offer. After the contract was signed and the background check completed, I proactively reached out to the team (even before I started working) to attend onboarding calls and prepare myself ahead of time. However, just two days before my official start date, the company suddenly requested personal financial documents such as payslips, CPF contributions, and bank statements, none of which were mentioned at any point earlier in the hiring process. I had previously shared my official employment contract from my former company voluntarily and well in advance, clearly stating my title in my previous company. If transparency was in question, this document alone should have cleared it. Despite this, and despite having passed the background check, the company accused me of a "material misrepresentation" because my resume used a functional title rather than the formal one (a common industry practice, especially when roles differ across companies in structure but not in scope). Without addressing the matter in a proper conversation or offering a chance for discussion, they abruptly terminated the contract via email, with no call or personal outreach, after I had already resigned from my previous job. What future candidates should know: 1. Be cautious if you’re asked to resign from your current job before all internal concerns have been addressed. 2. Don’t assume that a signed contract guarantees security, even after the background check is cleared. 3. Be aware that the company may request sensitive documents without prior notice, and failure to comply can be used against you. 4. If you value integrity, clear communication, and a respectful hiring experience, you may want to consider how this aligns with your expectations. The product and team might have potential, but the hiring experience was completely mishandled. I’m sharing this not out of spite, but so that future candidates go in with their eyes open and don’t face the same treatment, because right now I quit my previous job and do not have another one because of this company.

Thank you for your feedback. While we cannot share details of individual cases for confidentiality reasons, we can confirm that the withdrawal of this offer was due to the candidate not passing our standard background check process conducted by an independent external provider. At Parcel Perform, we place great importance on honesty and integrity throughout the hiring process, and we have a responsibility to ensure the accuracy of information provided by candidates. In this case, discrepancies were identified, and despite being given the opportunity, the candidate was unable to provide satisfactory clarification or evidence to address them.
