      Application

I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Parker Meggitt

      Interview

a)Reactive application...fairly normal and I was very happy for the call and the timing b) Got a call from HR for scheduling an interview after 15 days ish (Awesome) Interview: 1st round with the Hiring manager based in the UK went quite well. She was just a little bit concerned about the management of trainee resources. Well, I am not a school teacher but I had a few experiences and stories to tell. So far so good and the feeling was ok. Empathy was high, synergy great. She was really kind, a manager I would have loved to work with. 2nd Round was with HR. Few questions to set the fluffy comfort zone, then 1st questions with an annoyed tone: "Did she talk about the trainees". At that moment the comfort zone was gone! Then again: "ah so you discussed with her, but you got to tell me how do you really want to do that". I really wanted to reply that I am not a school teacher, rather an SYS-Eng, and btw the tone wasn't friendly, but rude. Then she (not me) talked about her experience. I believe she is still in Vevey with her head. Finally, she began asking questions about me, but this "normality" has last very little though. Basically, she took the wrong cv, and she was asking questions based on the profile of someone else. Politely, I asked where did she see this experience on my cv, then in the video, I saw that it wasn't my cv that she was looking at (and yet, I have a photo on my CV). The interview with her wasn't comfortable since the very beginning, but right after this episode, it was really hard. A month later I received an email telling me that they had chosen an internal resource to cover this role. If I am not wrong, this is the 3rd or the 4th time they are advertising this position since then. The point I am trying to make it here is that this position is still open, but they did not specify their real need: someone who takes care of trainees. Apparently, they don't need a Sr SysAdmin or an Eng neither. And my question is: What's the problem in writing down that? Moreover, if the HR Manager is demotivated to write down a proper JD, fairly nostalgic about the previous employer, at least choose someone able to pick up the right candidate's CV. It is quite unfortunate that factors such as the experience and the overall motivation of a candidate are no longer appreciated. That's what I felt after this experience. Pride and affiliation are unlikely to be shared by disappointed people. Hope it helps!
