      I interviewed at Parse.ly

      Interview

Phone screen with the hiring manager, followed by a panel interview a week or two later. The panel interview consisted of 3 different people with 30 minute time slots, plus a final 30 minute slot with 2 people from the sales team. The first 3 people on the interview were senior leadership and had great energy and great questions, and I enjoyed the time spent getting to know each of them. The final 30 minute slot with the 2 from the sales team lacked enthusiasm and energy, and was sufficiently awkward. They asked only a couple of questions, so most of the 30 minutes was me just trying to fill time by asking them questions. I didn't get the impression that they were excited to speak to me. At the end of the call, they asked me to do a role playing scenario as if I were a BDR reaching out to one of Parse.ly's prospective customers, trying to get a meeting on the books. The only role-playing I've encountered during interviews were for more senior sales roles (Account Executive, etc.), so I was pretty caught off guard to get this thrown at me for what was considered an entry-level sales job. Not to mention, I was completely mentally exhausted from 2 hours of virtual interviewing (without a break) at that point. The role-playing scenario was awkward and threw off what I thought was a great interview up until that point. After the interviews ended, I sent the hiring manager a thank you email and had asked for the email addresses of the other interviewers so that I could also send them a thank you. I never got a response. I ended up finding each of them on linkedin and sent them an inMail saying thank you for their time. No follow-up or feedback post-interview.

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Parse.ly (New York, NY) in Sept 2017

      Interview

It was a series of interviews with former BDR, VP-level staff, and BDR manager, followed by founder interview. It involved a writing exercise as well that included how to approach a specific prospect and how you'd try and get them to book a meeting.
