I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Paycom (Cleveland, OH) in Sept 2023
Interview
Similar process to everyone else. First interview with a recruiter and they have you apply online. Second interview is with the area sales manager. Third interview is the regional VP. Fourth interview is a presentation on the product with very little explanation on it and a three hour cold call block where you are expected to book three meetings. I was having trouble getting people on the phone and most of their CRM information was outdated, the other sales rep that was there giving me advice said verbatim "Yeah, these prospects probably don't get updated much due to the size of the company and the fact that they wouldn't be very profitable so the information on them is old." This was also done on a Friday which every seasoned outside sales rep knows is a dead day. I probably heard the other four sales reps in the office make a total of 20 calls the entire time I was there dialing the entire time. Everyone I interviewed with was extremely nice and helpful offering advice and coaching. They said I killed it on the product pitch to the team, but it doesn't feel like they set you up for success in the cold calls considering they give you the scrapped prospect list the other sales reps have all but abandoned.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Interview questions aren't outside the norm, ie what motivates you, how have you handled adversity, what is your comfort-ability with cold calls.

Long process and have to set meetings in front of a manager on the phone. They have you come into the office and make cold calls without knowing the product at all.

I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Paycom (Washington, DC) in July 2024
Interview
Strung me along through the interview process only to say they were going with someone else after basically telling me I had the job. Then heard that they were starting the interview process with someone I knew indicating they were not going with someone else.

Interview was easy but something didn’t feel right so I declined the offer. They seemed to salesy to me, almost like trying to get me to accept on the dot.
