Interview Process:
Phone Screen: The process started with a phone screen interview, which led to an interview with the VP of Analytics. They asked detailed questions about my past work, data cleaning techniques, stakeholder relations, and general problem-solving as a data analyst.
Subsequent Interviews: The following week, I had a series of interviews, though the recruiter provided minimal details about them in advance.
- Coding Interview: The first was a surprise coding interview focused on reviewing and describing code, testing my critical thinking.
- Case Study Interview: This was followed by a case study interview.
- Manager Interview: The final interview was with a manager.
The team mentioned they were still refining their interview questions, so the process might change in the future.
Feedback:
dbt Skills: The interview did not include many questions about dbt (Data Build Tool), yet proficiency in dbt was expected for the role.
Role Expectations: I found that the actual role had higher expectations than what was covered in the interview.
Overall, while the interview process was comprehensive, there were areas where better communication and clarity about the interview stages and role expectations could have been helpful.
