      Management Interview

      29 Feb 2012
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Atlanta, GA
      No offer
      Positive experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 1+ week. I interviewed at Pep Boys (Atlanta, GA) in Dec 2011

      Interview

I was called after online submission to come in for interview. I met with recruiter for about 1 hr. Interview was very positive even though it was held in the rear storage facility in the back of the store. A small fold up card table and 2 chairs, extremely noisy but i was not discouraged with the atmosphere of the location. We went over my resume of which i had already submitted by the way. Then he explained to me that i was way more qualified for this position than what they were looking for and that it only paid $40,000.00/yr.He explained to me that i needed to be a store manager or district manager to utilize my extensive background in this field and that i was really a great catch for the company. He expressed to me that i had the background and expertise that pep boys was looking for and was hard to find. I asked if they had those positions available or could the position that i had applied for be increased to at least $52,000.00/yr. He said he would have a meeting with the District Mgr. and call me in a couple of days and that he didn't want to loose me as a future member of pep boys. I never heard back from him so i called and got his voice mail, left message, and waited for the call back. Nothing came. The purpose of this rant is just to voice my disgust with companies such as this. They don't mind taking up your time and going through the motions also telling you or promising you anything that they want simply to string you along and then they don't even have the courtesy to return a simple phone call. If you treat your future employees this way , just how will you treat me after i come on board? Thanks pep boys for wasting my time.
