Initial interview seemed fine. Was given an offer same day to cover the following week. But that’s when it went downhill.
1) they refused to pay me net 30 even though it’s the law in nyc. Made up some excuse but didn’t really care mentioning net 45 was the way they’ve always done it. (RED FLAG)
2) even though start date was the following week they wanted me to go in same day as offer to get briefed on the project. No problem at all but refused to pay me for the time even though he and I both know that sounded ridiculous. (HUGE RED FLAG)
3)day rate was below market rate for an 8 hour shift. They had the audacity to ask if I can work 10 hour shift.
Interviewer did not budge when confronting him. Take it or leave it attitude. I quickly emailed the company and declined the offer. RUN
PS- had a run in with the owner a few years back when he reached out for interview. Said no problem but will need to be flexible as I’m working on the biggest pitch of my life at my current role at the top agency in the city. Like I suspected and hour or so before the early morning call a conflict popped up. I kindly asked him for another time and he wrote back after me reaching out twice to tell me I wasn’t being considered as a “serious” applicant bc I had to move the interview. Mind you this is after I prefaced that I’m def interested it’s just a hard week ahead. Anyone whose ever worked on a pitch knows this. It almost like he preferred to work with a bum sitting at home that had all the time in the world to chat whenever he liked but god forbid if you actually had a full time job when he wants to chat.
Company is a joke. Some of the reviews appear to be fake.
