HR emailed for a phone interview one week after online resume submission. HR was a little bit too aggressive but have a pretty good knowledge about the company. She is looking for someone who can jump into subject quickly and pop up questions regarding solutions immediately. I wish she had told me this when we started the interview. She started by asking if I have any questions and kept asking for more questions. Because I was quite nervous and felt surprised when she was still asking questions after 10 mins interviewing. I was forced to ask a lot of questions that I thought I would discuss with the hiring manager or other engineers. The HR did not answer those questions very well and we had some awkward discussions then moved on to my resume and experience. So be sure to prepare some appropriate questions and be confident to engage with HR to show your good communication skills.

The scheduling of the interview was quick and efficient. The recruiter was late to the call and during the interview sounded like she was in a rush. I felt she wasn't really listening to my answers and already had her mind made up that I wasn't moving forward. Why bother offering an interview? After the interview I sent a note thanking her for her time. I knew I didn't move forward to the next round because the recruiter and I just didn't seemed to be on different pages but I would have appreciated some feedback to make the experience a valuable one.

A follow up call was set up which progressed to an onsite visit.
Everything was very fast and everyone I spoke with was incredibly friendly. The onsite was a mixture of background and a skills test. Relative to other interviews I had at the time, I’d say Periscope was the best at communicate throughout the process.
