I applied through university. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Perkins & Will (Atlanta, GA) in June 2014
Interview
Hired through a professional connection with the university. After submitting resume and portfolio to the office, a follow-up interview was scheduled after having previously worked in another office. The phone call was casual and simply to make the point of contact and have a conversation about the position available.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Previous project work and skills, areas of interest
The interviewers treated the interview more like a portfolio review, whereby after I finished walking them through a project they would point out all of the things they didn’t like or what they said couldn’t work. Would ask me if I “even considered” trying different things and were generally disrespectful during the interview, interjecting to tell me that my graphics were confusing or not good - I had previously worked in a different PW office and had never had such a poor interview experience.
Self introduction and got introduced to interview panelists. Walked through portfolio and introduced top 2 projects. Interviewers asked questions about design decisions, process, and software used. A Q&A question followed after about firm.

Question 1
Why do you want to intern at PW? What are you interests?
The interview process typically begins with an application review, followed by a phone or video screening. Next, candidates may face one or more in-person or virtual interviews, including technical or behavioral questions. It often concludes with reference checks and a final decision.
