The interview process was the typical phone screening, hiring manager interview and peer interview structure. All three were conducting using CMC (phone and Zoom). The interviews lasted 30 minutes for each session.
The hiring manager prompted me to apply for another position within the HR function and gave candidate signalling that I was the only suitable candidate they were considering.
The week after the peer interview I was emailed by an intern from their Munich office informing me "I would not be progressing to the interview stage". Meaning either the initial pair of interviews did not count, which is terrible HR as candidates who need to jump through hoops may take other offers. Or more likely, candidate signalling for unsuccessful candidates is conducted in such a way that the hiring manager who you were in correspondence with for over month ghosts you and gets an intern in another country to send out mass rejection emails.
Not every interview process is successful, sometimes based on skills, experience or even team fit. However, this was one of the most negative interview experiences I have had and I have actually since closed tabs with completed applications for other Personio roles based on how they treat candidates.
