I applied online. I interviewed at Pets at Home (Rochdale, England) in June 2026
Interview
I found everyone very Friendly, Informative and incredibly straight forward. I felt really welcome straight away. I met with the duty manager who introduced herself, had a lovely sense of humour too, which broke the ice.

Question 1
How flexible in regard to the working week/hours, also if any allergies to animals, and comfortable with slight heavy lifting.
2 stages overall, one screening interview with a recruiter and one in-store interview. In-store interview included 30 minutes on the shop floor to see what day to day looks like, including a demo of the till, and some facing up of different products/aisles. Had an opportunity to meet the wider team before a formal interview with the Deputy Manager, which included generic questions about customer service, availability, etc. Overall was a really lovely process, no anxiety/nerves whatsoever and the team and manager were great.
