One of their internal HR recruiters reached out to me on LinkedIn about the job. We scheduled a phone call, it went well and I had a Teams video interview with a supervisor and manager. That went fine as well. They told me a little more about the job, asked some STAR questions. They had told me the job had a quota for accounts to quote per month and it can be high stress (not their exact words, but I'm not an idiot). A huge red flag was I asked what work-life balance was like in terms of hours since it sounds like they are very busy, is it typical to work more than 40 hours a week. Their answer was that the company reimburses you your entry fee if you want to run a marathon or do an Iron Man...
So it didn't seem like something I was too interested in since they were being evasive about how much I'd be working.
But the real kicker is about a week after that, I get another message from the recruiter on LinkedIn. She said they were going with other candidates, only she got my name wrong. I immediately responded that that wasn't my name and if that message was intended for someone else. Three days go by and nothing so I sent her another message again about if that message was for me. This time she responded and said it was intended for someone else, but nothing else was in her message, leaving me to wonder, "OK, so does that mean I'm still being considered?"
Another week goes by and nothing so I sent her a message I am no longer interested. I probably had already been rejected, but she couldn't be bothered to tell me, even though she reached out to me to begin with.
