Quick phone interview with HR and then a <45 minute in person interview and warehouse tour with operations leader. General questions about availability and experiences were asked. Individual questions based on role request and pay.

I applied for an entry-associate level role at the corporate office, and the hiring process consisted of 4 interview rounds and a project to complete in less than a week. Honestly, all of which would have been perfectly normal and reasonable had they actually been steps in a legitimate process. However, FIVE business days after my final interview, I got an email saying that due to unexpected circumstances they had to “cancel the role.” They didn’t even have the vocabulary for typical corporate speak and use the term “eliminate.” This project I turned in consisted of analyzing their prior month’s sales data. They basically had me do their month end reporting for them for free and probably provide an entire SOP to use moving forward considering their standardized reply on this platform mentions what a priority it is for them to establish those this year….They made sure to clarify in my rejection email that my skills and expertise definitely qualified me for the position. Go figure. I was smart enough to do their work for them, but they somehow expected me to be dumb enough to believe that in 5 short business days, something so catastrophic happened they had to completely “cancel” a position that any company has to take months to plan and budget for even though they were still perfectly prepared for it the week prior and had only posted the job a month ago. Also, this same “unexpected circumstance” somehow didn’t seem to affect a single other job listing on their site including the category manger position that is in the exact same department and requires an even higher salary. Only a company lacking such basic critical thinking skills is pathetic enough to need exploit free labor from an entry level employee for basic SOP inspiration. After doing so, they could have granted me the decency to just continue lying and say they hired someone else for the role, so I could at least move on with the delusion, but I guess they needed to rob me of my peace too, because the free labor, time, and expertise just wasn’t enough ;) If you’re considering working for this company, the red flags are EXACTLY as they appear. If you’re a Denver local considering shopping with this company, I wouldn’t recommend it. I don’t think Denver wants a company like this succeeding in their city.

Interview
I received an email to schedule a phone interview. Prepared myself for the interview, read about the company, took notes. I never received a call. I sent an email to follow up - still waiting for an answer. My recommendation is to not let people waiting for a call. Do not make us prepare for an interview that is not going to happen. It's not fair and it makes the company look bad and unprofessional.
