I applied online. I interviewed at Planned Parenthood
Interview
Super unprofessional. I was interviewing for a communications manager role with the southeast region. Scheduled a phone screening a week in advance only for the recruiter to never call. I then got another email from a different recruiter to reschedule my screening (while never apologizing or explaining their reasoning for missing my original date) that same week. When I finally had my rescheduled screening, it lasted all of 10 minutes and the recruiter sounded like she didn’t care about the position at all. Complete waste of time and disregard for their candidates.
I interviewed at Planned Parenthood (Columbus, OH)
Interview
Phone screen, then virtual interview with hiring manager, then panel interview in which they changed who would be participating. Asked to complete writing test. Voluntarily contributed two slide decks outlining sample communication strategies. Could not even have the decency to respond to a follow up email about the decision to fill the role. Only sent an impersonal, likely AI-generated rejection with no feedback.

Question 1
How do you handle writing for underrepresented voices?
I only went through the HR screen before I removed myself from the candidate pool, so I can't speak to the full process. But, the HR screen was awful - the HR rep basically read the entire job description to me and asked, "Can you do this?" after each bullet point, to which I'd respond, "Yes" or "No". She asked me these questions despite the fact that I had submitted my resume and sent my portfolio, which would've have shown that yes, I could do all of these things. I don't think she actually read any of my information. She also did not give me an opportunity to elaborate beyond my "Yes" or "No" responses. It was a really awful experience to the point that I declined to move forward when the recruiter reached out to schedule an interview with the hiring managers, which is really disappointing because I really believe in the mission behind Planned Parenthood and would've loved to contribute to it.
