I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Playlist in Mar 2026
Interview
Recruiter messaged me on Linkedin, used their link to schedule the call. They didn't show up for the initial call and then I used their link again to reschedule. In the second call, they didn't acknowledge that they didn't show up. Generic questions. Hiring manager seemed really kind but distracted. Didn't go through the full loop. Got a automated, generic rejection email, was hoping for something a bit more personal since they were the ones who reached out.
The people I interviewed with were all very kind and thoughtful. I genuinely enjoyed the conversations.
That said, the process was excessive. Multiple interview rounds and a time-consuming case study required a significant investment of time and effort, followed by a completely generic rejection with no meaningful feedback.
At that point, it starts to feel very one-sided. Candidates are asked to put real thought into solving business problems, but receive little to no insight in return. If that level of effort is expected, the process should either be shorter or the feedback should be more thoughtful.
I applied online. I interviewed at Playlist in Mar 2024
Interview
Three rounds of interviews if I recall. Had to take an online aptitude test first before I was able to proceed to interviewing with people. First call was with recruiter.
