I applied online. I interviewed at Plexuss (Walnut Creek, CA) in Aug 2019
Interview
I had the wackiest interview process with Plexuss. I submitted my resume and requisite questionnaire and didn't hear anything back. Two moths later they emailed me asking if I was still interested in the position, and if so to complete a personality survey (called an Enneagram) in which, among other traits, my "sx" (sexual variant) was determined. The following day I had a phone interview with the CEO (not atypical for a small startup). He said the PM position was no longer available but there were perhaps other opportunities for me, like Business Development. He had to cut short the interview and told me to "save my burning questions" for the in-person interview. I waited for a couple days to hear back from admin about scheduling my in-person interview before I finally inquired. I got a boilerplate email back saying that they are moving forward with other candidates in the selection process for Business Development.
Thank you for taking the time to provide this feedback. We value our employees and our prospective employees. We are sorry you had a negative experience and will use your feedback as an opportunity to review our communications processes as they relate to prospective employees. We are also sorry if anything regarding the assessment you took was misconstrued. We do use a nationally-recognized assessment survey as part of a very broad interview/consideration process. The assessment does not request directly or indirectly ask or seek out information about sexuality or highly private or intimate details of one's life. The third-party assessment is one of many tools we use and it is primarily used for professional team-building reasons versus hiring tools. Again, we appreciate your candid feedback and are consistently looking to improve our prospective employee and our team member experiences.
