I applied online. I interviewed at Plooto (Toronto, ON) in Jan 2023
Interview
My interview started with first round, being HR round or technical recruiter from the company itself. She talked to me for almost an HOUR. She asked me question from probably a preplanned list. She asked all sorts of questions around - how i work with stakeholders? whats the tech stack i used? different experience in the multiple projects. Asked me question about how have i contributed to UX design ( gave me clear picture this company will make you work for multiple profile even if you are hired to do one). After happily chatting for an HOUR, where she smiled and gave me positive response, in an EMAIL next day, she said they decided not to go further with my profile. It wasted not just my one hour of time, but made me realize that there is a RED FLAG, if you have to stumble upon such an experience. She is just doing her job of talking to set of people, without any intention of moving forward. Please save your time, if you have happen to be in similar situation. Best of luck to whoever is reading this.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Asked about my experience - Front end, agile , interaction with diff stakeholders, scenario based questions, which i doubt should be asked by an Non technical person.
The process was generally straightforward, but I was disappointed with the system design interview experience. I had prepared a structured design approach and planned to walk through multiple stages of the solution. However, the interview ended approximately 20 minutes earlier than scheduled, which left insufficient time to cover important parts of my design.
I felt that I did not have a fair opportunity to fully demonstrate my system design thinking and overall approach. While I respect the company's decision, I believe the interview could have been conducted in a more engaged and thorough manner.
Interview outcome: Rejected.
I applied through other source. I interviewed at Plooto
Interview
Quite reasonable. Short non-technical followed with home work. Last step (1:1) is a total disaster. 1,5 hours of the questions read form the screen. No discussion, no deep dives. Kinda multiple choice. Not sure interviewer understands most of the concepts touched during the conversation.

Question 1
Design patterns - you need to know exact names. Person that asked the questions likely didn't read the original book.
