I applied in-person. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Point72 (New York, NY) in Apr 2018
Interview
Resume was submitted by external recruiter. A few teams asked to set up a 1 hour phone screen. The phone screen started off with an informal description of the team and job and also of my background. Then 20 minutes in, we started on technical questions. They started off mostly about Python and Pandas.

Question 1
How do you differentiate between an experienced and an in-experienced programmer?
I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Point72 in Mar 2026
Interview
Not very difficult. The interviewers were helpful and sweet. The hiring manager was rude and disinterested.
The first round is a tech screen.
After that is the onsite. The onsite consists of 2 technical interviews (AI assisted coding, ML system design) and one behavioural/leadership round with the hiring manager.

Tech screen: Hit an API to get JSON Data. Parse all the pages with custom filters and parse the data to answer the questions around aggregates and stuff. Some question about web parsing at scale.
There was first meeting with recruiter to align skills. Then a technical case study along with a debrief about it. Then interview panel with several people on the team. The process took about 2 months.
I applied through a staffing agency. The process took 5 days. I interviewed at Point72 (New York, NY) in July 2025
Interview
First round call with a member on the technical staff. I did not speak to a recruiter except for scheduling. Rejected after this first round so I'm not sure of the full process
