      Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Populus Group (Phoenix, AZ) in Mar 2023

      Interview

It started with a screen call from an internal recruiter, and then went to a panel interview with 3 team members. The panel consisted of 2 HR members, and a member of the Payroll team. The recruiter and team members were all very nice, and it was a great process to be apart of.

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Populus Group (Troy, MI) in Mar 2023

      Interview

My experience with Populus Group started out very positive, and turned negative very quickly. I was contacted by a recruiter on LinkedIn. I did a phone interview with him that was very positive. We talked for about an hour. He was very nice, made good conversation, and made me feel excited about the opportunity. He told me he thought I would be a good fit for the onboarding coordinator position, but there wouldn't be any openings for a few weeks, and he would contact me at that time. Even though he said a few times that I would "definitely get an interview," I didn't expect much, but about two weeks later he contacted me and asked if I was still interested. I said yes, and he said he would like me to talk with his manager about the position the following day. Now I am thinking this is great news that he followed through on what he said originally. The next day, I get a call but it's not the manager, it's the recruiter saying the manager went home with a migraine. He asked me if I had any questions, and told me he was "really excited" for me. I took this as a good sign. That was on Friday and he said he would get in touch on Monday to reschedule with the manager. On Monday, I never heard anything. I reached out to him on Tuesday, and he said he was so sorry, but the position was filled internally, and good luck with my job search. I was confused how that could change so suddenly between Friday and Monday, and then started to think maybe the manager didn't want to talk on Friday because the position was filled. I was disappointed but decided to move on. I was on LinkedIn the following day when I saw that the recruiter I had been speaking with posted the onboarding coordinator job position in Troy. I reached out confused about how that was possible when he told me it was filled. He said oops, he was supposed to post that for the IL location. When I saw the job posting there were already 14 applicants thinking it was for the Troy location. So now he wasted their time too. However you look at this, it's unprofessional, and I wasted way too much time here because he was unable to tell me I wasn't a fit or the position was filled. I don't know if this was so he could hit some kind of metrics, but job searching is hard enough as it is. Please don't do this to people. Treat people like human beings and respect their time.

      Interview

They were really nice but not very communicative. The position sounded too good to be true, felt like a scam. I prob wouldnt do it again just because the process was kinda long
