Port of San Diego interview questions

"They indicated that my performance was excellent, but they were seeking someone at a junior level. This feels like job security for me. I had a sense I wouldn't get the position; I could discern it in their demeanor. It's frustrating to go through so many interviews, as it feels like a waste of time.

Got a call for an interview over zoom about 2 months after applying. Did a second interview two weeks later. The questions were mostly situational and behavioral, not really technical. The people were very nice and we could talk casually towards the end. I asked when I would hear back after the second interview and the panelists did not know, but said HR would be in touch. I never heard back despite follow up emails and do not plan on hearing back since I got a better offer elsewhere.
